Our Commitment to the Community

Community is at the heart of all that we do at Kent Island Pediatric Dentistry. We believe in doing our part to ensure dental health can be extended to children who may not have the means to visit the dentist.

During National Children’s Dental Health month, Kent Island Pediatric Dentistry visits local schools and daycare facilities. Emphasis on brushing, flossing and diet is discussed with the children.

Dental decay is the most common chronic disease in children.  Brushing twice daily, using toothpaste with fluoride, flossing daily, having routine checkups and eating a diet low in sugary foods and drinks help prevent tooth decay.  Good oral health habits start in early childhood!

Education:

Picture

Each year a team from our office visits many local schools and daycares to help educate children in a fun way on the importance of good oral health.  The team has come up with fun presentations that cover daily care of teeth, good nutrition and what to expect when children visit the dentist.  We look forward to doing this every year!

If you ever what us to visit your child’s school just give us a call!

Fun Office Events:  Patient Appreciation Day!

For the past 3 years the office has held an egg hunt with crafts, games and facepainting for all of our younger patients!  As you can see from the pictures it is a fun time!
We appreciate all our patients so we love these events.

Patient Appreciation Day: Egg Hunt! Thank you to all who joined us!

Charity:

We are very proud of our team members who have worked hard to help fundraise for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.   We support and have been a big part of the Eastern Shore LLS annual campaign since 2014.

This year Rebecca Kellum, our dental assistant, is running for LLS Woman of the Year title and has set her fundraising goal high to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  The campaign runs every April – June and we are looking forward to helping with all the fun events that go along with this very important fundraising campaign.
